ARMY & RAF Champs, Inter-services Triathlon
MASSIVE thanks to All those who helped put today's race on: Geno Race Director Kev for sorting Trophies Debs and Michelle for timing Jethro for all his running around on the day and signs Gery for all his support, bike mechanics, trophy and prizes Mike and Geno on the water stations RAF Photog Windsurfing club and Paul for water safety JJ's for the sports Keo In Flt catering - Sodexo - for the food All of you who competed in very tough conditions today! Hopefully i havent missed anyone this time??? There was a slight discrepancy over the results at the time as Cpl Riding appears to not have annotated he was Army and appeared on the RAF results. that has now been ammended and the results are published below as a file as usual. despite that error at the time, Sgt Jase Wilkinson was the 6th RAF team member home and that just made the scores even closer however the RAF still managed the win but by only ONE POINT. it couldn't have been closer. Winnie's times do not appear on the results as she does her own thing (300m swim, 40km bike, 10km run?) so her finish position would not make a difference to the scores or teams. Winnie i will get your times/ splits for you - Geno please can you post them from the results sheet, ta. Apart from Pete 'the power' Norris times were all generally well down for most people, showing just what a tough day it was for triathlon! Enjoy the rest now and well done to everyone.
from Nicola Scott: There is someone missing from the list, possibly the most instrumental man of the day - Roy!

Awesome time from Pete, Haldane is still out there on the run
Matt Stephenson RAF and an old K1 member finished in 9.49, 2nd in his
age group and 33 overall..
From Haldane van Horen:
Hi Folks,
This proves one can do an Ironman with almost no training! I managed, with
nothing going wrong!
The heat was 34C, and almost no wind, so it was nasty.
Another old K1 member, Daz Sharpe (ARMY) also raced, and he did a 12h05 or
thereabouts, mainly because he was sick on the bike leg.
I'll get round to writing a report!
Later in the evening, the wind DID come up, and blew down the large tent which
housed the finishing facilities, so there was no meal, or massages!!!
From Pete Norris:
What an awesome experience IM SA was yesterday, had an OK swim, good bike and a
good run considering the heat. I managed 62nd overall and 7th in my age group. I
thought i would go to the Hawaii slot allocation venue today just in case. There
were 3 slots up for grabs so was kind of hoping they would roll down to me,
unfortunately they didn't, oh well next year maybe.
